Adam’s Superbowl blog - 2/2/09
Y’all enjoy last night’s Super Bowl? I felt the anticipation and excitement in the air all day yesterday. I’m actually more of a Hockey fan than football, but I’m quickly becoming a fan of football. I have friends and fans in both Phoenix and Pittsburgh, so I wasn’t cheering for any particular team. I just say, “may the best team win.” In Canada, we have what is called the Grey Cup and it is Canada’s version of the Superbowl. In 2002, I sang the anthem there in front of like 60 to 70 thousand people in the stands and to another 6 to 7 million T.V. viewers. Boy, was I nervous… It was definitely a rush. Just so that everyone could see me, I was propped up on this machine that had a platform under my feet with a harness around my waist. I was lifted about 20 feet in the air, and to top that off, I was freezing. It was something that I had never done before, but a memory that I’ll always hold on to. I was talking to a guy at the airport in Milwaukee yesterday who said he was going to the Super Bowl. I bet that would be pretty awesome to be in the audience with the crowd cheering and getting into the game. I don’t know about all of you, but personally one of my favorite parts of the Super Bowl is the half-time show and the funny commercials. I’m sure there was some craziness in the City of Nashville tonight as well as every other city in the country, so I hope y’all had a great time and chowed down on some great food and enjoyed the game! I’ll be talking to you soon. God Bless!
